Terms & Conditions

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, members of Chambers offer their services and accept instructions in accordance with the Terms & Conditions set out below which will be different depending upon your status and the capacity in which you instruct us.

The Terms of Booking specific to your case may also contain additional necessary provisions which will be discussed with you.

Where we link to the relevant terms, they are provided as a PDF so that you can download them if you choose.

•    Authorised Person e.g. solicitor: if you are an individual or organisation authorised by one of the approved regulators under the Legal Services Act 2007 to provide legal services, then these Standard Terms will apply.

•    Licensed Access Scheme e.g. accountants: if you are a member of a body listed on the BSB Licensed Access Schedule* (such as accountants, taxation advisors, insolvency practitioners, actuaries and insurers) or hold a licence issued by the BSB, then these Standard Terms will apply.

Individual members of Chambers reserve the right to negotiate different contractual terms where appropriate and by discussion with clients.

The terms above do not apply to instructions on a conditional fee agreement basis, damages-based agreements, publicly funded work, or instructions received from Public Access clients.

Public Access Clients: Instructions received by approved barristers under the Public Access Scheme require more tailored terms and conditions to ensure that maximum protection is afforded. Please contact the clerks at clerks@exchequerchambers.com or the barrister via the contact details shown on the barrister’s profile.
